Adult Swim has cut ties with Justin Roiland following news that the Rick and Morty co-creator was charged with felony domestic abuse.
Justin co-created and executive produced the animated, and voiced both the Rick and Morty.
Sources tells The Hollywood Reporter that Rick and Morty will continue, with Roiland’s voice roles to be re-cast. Adult Swim isn't even halfway through a 70-episode order for the show, which will now see Dan Harmon as the lone showrunner.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Justin was charged with one count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud or deceit in Orange County stemming from an alleged 2020 incident with an unnamed woman he was dating. Roiland has pled not guilty.
On the heels of Adult Swim severing ties with Justin Roiland because of domestic violence charges, Hulu has dropped the Rick and Morty co-creator from Solar Opposites and Koala Man. Both animated series will continue without his involvement, according to Variety.
