Even though he's been out of Metallica for almost 40 years, it seems that Dave Mustaine of Megadeth can't help but think about that time.
In a conversation with Vinyl Writer Music, Mustaine revealed that he's been "secretly hoping there'd be a day" when he could write music again with James Hetfield. He said, "I think the world really does want us to do that, and I think there is a pretty good possibility of it happening down the line."
Mustaine also believes that this dream could definitely become a reality, someday. "I do think that it's possible that one day James is going to come around and that he and I are going to be able to do something together again. I guess that's one of the things that has always kept me pushing forward. I think it'd be good for Megadeth, and it could be great for Metallica too."
Mustaine has played with Hetfield and Metallica a few times over the past 40 years, the last being at their 30th anniversary concerts in San Francisco in 2011.
