Corey Taylor and Jim Root of Slipknot are talking about starting a new side project together.
It comes as a bit of a surprise, since Taylor engineered Root's departure from their other group, Stone Sour in 2014. But Taylor reveals in a new interview with Metal Hammer that they've worked out their differences and are ready to do something together outside of Slipknot again.
While acknowledging that he and Root are "very different people," Taylor says it's been cool rekindling their friendship and realizing "that you can find your way back to people that you care about."
Taylor takes responsibility "for some of the bad feelings," which he feels may have resulted from other things that were going on in his life at the time. He says, "Once you own up to that, you can start to mend bridges by showing people that you are truly sorry."
Slipknot's seventh album, The End, So Far, is due out September 30th.
- Being bandmates in Slipknot through it all, they've sure had ample time to work out their differences.
- Too bad they couldn't have worked things out before Taylor threw Root out of Stone Sour.
- This probably means that Stone Sour, which began an "indefinite hiatus" in 2020, isn't coming back any time soon.
