Founding members and brothers Max & Igor Cavalera of Brazil thrash-metal band Sepultura founded the band in 1984. In 1996, frontman/guitarist Max Cavalara split from the band. Igor Cavalara left in 2006. Since then, the brothers have played off and on in their project Cavalera Conspiracy. The Sepultura name lives on and has continued under different lineups. The question has always lingered if the Cavalera brothers could ever reunite with their previous band mates. Igor said in an interview with the Mike Nelson Show it would be "awesome" and the "real reunion" would always be with his brother.
"I have to be honest with you, man. You know that the reunion, in my opinion, it's me and my brother. You know, like that's the person that I want to be united with. So, for me, that's…the other stuff, it doesn't happen…I can't really, you know, be too bummed about it. Of course, it would be amazing, but the real reunion for me is just me and my brother being together. That's what makes me happy."
