South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, who previously starred in the Netflix action series Bloodhounds, has died at the age of 24, Yonhap News Agency reported on Sunday (February 16) (h/t the New York Post).

Kim, a former child star who was forced into hiding after being involved in a drunk driving crash, was reportedly discovered at her Seuol home by a friend who had plans to meet her. The actress made her acting debut at the age of 9, gaining notoriety for roles in the 2010 action movie The Man from Nowhere and the 2012 film The Neighbor.

Kim crashed her car into a roadside electrical transformer box while drunk in May 2022, which caused public humiliation and forced her to take a step back from acting as she was fined 20 million won ($13,850 USD) and stepped down from her role on the drama series Trolley. The 24-year-old attempted to make a comeback last year, but dropped out after suffering health issues, according to Yonhap.

Police told the Korean news outlet that Kim was found at around 4:50 p.m. local time and said they "have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death."
