Red Ribbon Community Walk

Jim Woods Park Gazebo & Track

Every year the Phoenix Program, with the support of the Drug Free Communities Grant, hosts the Red Ribbon Week Community Walk for area students. Red Ribbon Week is the Nation's largest and longest-running drug awareness and prevention program, observed annually in the United States. It began in 1985 as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, and the red ribbon serves as a national symbol for drug prevention. Our idea is to not only provide drug prevention and treatment information but to also show the area’s youth that there are constructive activities, outlets, and support available to them. We will have information booths, DJ Dollar Bill, raffles, giveaways, inflatables, an airbrush tattoo artist, activities for kids, food trucks, and more! This is a no-cost event, except for the food trucks.
