Ace Frehley and Gene Simmons Now Have the Same Solo Band

Much has been made about Ace Frehley's recent rekindling of his friendship with his former KISS bandmates Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons

Whether it's all paving the way for Frehley to return to KISS or at least contribute to the legendary shock rockers' End of the Road tour in some capacity remains to be seen.

But now we know Simmons and Frehley are again sharing some band mates, just not KISS band mates.

The guitarist recently revealed that he just let the members of his solo band go so he could hire Simmons' band.

"I worked with them in Australia, and they also did eight shows with me in Japan," Frehley told The Cassius Morris Show. "I realized that ... I think they were better than my current lineup, so I've decided to make a change."

The spaceman added that Simmons band was "younger and more hungry" than his former band.

Simmons' guitarist/bassist Philip Schouse said in a recent interview that he knew Frehley was impressed with them after they performed behind Frehley for the first time "with no rehearsal and we pulled it off."

With all the recent connections between Frehley his KISS co-founders (Stanley performed on one recent Frehley solo album), no one would be all that surprised to see Frehley back in KISS.

Frehley himself is positive the fans want him back in the band, but he added that he's happy continuing his solo career and he won't return to KISS at a discount.

Frehley's next solo album, Spaceman, is his third in six years. It arrives October 19.
