UPDATE: The team made it official on Tuesday morning, and placed defense end Stephon Tuitt on the IR list.
They also signed defensive end L.T. Walton to fill the open roster spot.
Original Story: According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Steelers DL Stephon Tuitt needs surgery on a torn pec muscle and will be out the rest of the season.
The injury happened during the Steelers game against the Chargers on Sunday night.
There has been no official word from the team on Tuitt's injury or his status.
